Stubble turnips provide a valuable feed option for early spring grazing when sown in the autumn after a cereal crop. As the name suggests stubble turnip seed is best sown directly after the combine in July/August. This gives a the stubble turnips the best chance of establishing before the cooler autumn months arrive and growth naturally slows down. Stubble turnips will over winter well and can be fed from late October onwards offering great versatility to producers and stock managers.
