SFI AHL3 encourages land managers to create areas of grass by introducing a species rich grass mixture or by leaving an area to naturally re-establish itself with wild grasses. The aim of SFI AHL3 option is to create areas of habitat where commercial farming would usually prove difficult. These grassy areas allow beneficial insects to thrive as well as providing critical nesting sites for farmland birds.
