Description
English Bluebell bulbs, also known as hyacinthoides non-scripta are a classic native woodland Bluebell. Closely associated with ancient Woodlands, natural open areas and spring time. A beautiful deep blue multiple flower head with light green foliage. If left alone it will naturalise extremely well, and very quickly develop into a stunning carpet of blue. English Bluebell bulbs are great pollinators and a firm favourite with the bees and butterflies. They are however highly toxic, so cannot be eaten and care should be taken if picking them. They like a position in full sun and fertile well drained soil.
When handling bulbs, wearing gloves is advisable as they can be a skin irritant and harmful if eaten.
Bluebell bulbs look perfect planted with other spring classics such as Daffodils and Fritillaria . Create a show of colour and a bee & butterfly friendly garden.
