Description
As its name suggests Creeping Red Fescue is a species of grass commonly found in UK grass seed mixtures and subsequent grass leys and swards. Creeping Red Fescue develops a vast network of strong creeping roots allowing it to remain greener for longer in dry and hot seasons. Creeping Fescue is commonly used in larger grass seed mixtures to create a good base to the sward. Care should be taken when adding creeping red into an established ley as its creeping nature can become a disadvantage smothering existing, slower growing meadow grasses.
