Oriental Lily Bamako bulbs are a highly fragrant beautiful pale pink colour. Every petal has a shade of yellow running though with a green base. They are large heads on thick green stems with plenty of green foliage to bring it all together. Oriental lilies work well in a mixed perennial border or look equally as showy in a pot display. Plant them out in spring once the risk of frost has passed. Oriental Lily Bamako bulbs prefer well drained soil and a sunny position. It is recommended to plant the bulb in a little sand which does two things, keeps the slugs away and helps with drainage. For best results plant the bulbs at least 15cm deep, and plant together with other bulbs for a better display. Lilies are also a favourite with florists as they make wonderful cut flowers.
When handling bulbs, wearing gloves is advisable as they can be a skin irritant and harmful if eaten.
