Description
Pot Lily Blackbird bulbs are a stunning deep crimson colour. Highly fragranced, they have large star shaped flower heads on sturdy stems with plenty of green foliage to bring it all together. Pot lilies require excellent drainage and will not tolerate excessive wet. Plant them out in spring once the risk of frost has passed. Pot Lily Blackbird bulbs prefer well drained soil and a sunny to part shaded position. It is recommended to plant the bulb in a little sand which does two things, keeps the slugs away and helps with drainage. For best results plant the bulbs at least 15cm deep, and plant together with other bulbs for a better display. These make excellent cut flowers. It has been said that these flowers are highly poisonous to cats.
When handling bulbs, wearing gloves is advisable as they can be a skin irritant and harmful if eaten.
